About...Claire Waughman

 

  

Hi! Welcome to my website.

 

I have always been enthusiastic about exercise since I was little; as soon as I could walk there was no stopping me, I would excitedly run everywhere! As a child I wanted to be a dancer or a gymnast. I studied ballet for 10 years which I loved, there is something so beautiful and graceful about a ballet and I loved the structure and discipline of the dance. I also enjoyed gymnastics and trampolining; I competed in trampolining for a year which was fantastic.

My passion is dancing, I love salsa and Latin dancing, I started 12 years ago and I have been hooked ever since. When I found Zumba I knew I had to teach it. Zumba is a Latin inspired aerobic dance workout featuring salsa, merrengue, reggeaton and more and it is so much fun! I was the first instructor to bring it to the area.

 

I love teaching my classes, there are lots of cheeky shimmies and hip wiggling and laughing in my classes, you will have so much fun you will forget you came to exercise. You can find me in Bexhill, St Leonards-on-Sea and Hastings, go to the Zumba fitness page for more details.

       

 

I love being active; running is another passion of mine, one of my goals is to run the Paris marathon. I love Paris it is my favourite city. I holidayed there in 2008 and packed my trainers so I could go running every morning, crazy I know! I ran round the Jardin des Tuileries which runs between Louvre and Place de la Concorde, it is beautiful.

I also enjoy off road mountain biking, my partner Ben loves downhill racing so he really got me in to it. One of my favourite trails is around Bewl Water as it is so stunning and peaceful. There are some great hills there too and my competitive edge makes me challenge a race to the top every time! Going out in the fresh air and exercising is how I like to unwind and relax. My favourite pastime is going on country walks every weekend with my partner.

My passion and dedication to health and fitness lead me to establish Paragon Personal Training. I really want to share my passion with you and help you achieve your goals. I aim to provide an enthusiastic, professional and friendly approach to personal training ensuring every session is enjoyable and focused. I am dedicated to continual professional development ensuring I am up to date with the latest information. I aim to educate you about your health and fitness and how you can take control of your training and to provide an exemplary service. I too have been on every diet and tried the fads and they just don't work. A focused individual programme that is bespoke to your specification is the key and understanding the science behind your training will enable you to reach your goals, be more confident and feel great about yourself. It is about understanding the balance. Anyone who knows me will tell you that I can demolish a box of chocolates in a second, you don't have to deny yourself of your favourite foods or pastimes. You can still have treats and look and feel great without starving yourself!

Who are REPS?

 

The Register of Exercise Professionals UK, they aim "to ensure that all exercise professionals are suitably knowledgeable and qualified to help safeguard and to promote the health and interests of the people who use their services." As a member of REPS I am bound by a Code of Ethical Practice which determines the rights, responsibilities and principles required in the conduct of an exercise professional and member of the Register.
